The Veteran Series: Built From Grit, Cadence, and Lived Experience
The Veteran Series is more than a design collection — it’s a pulse. A rhythm. A visual translation of the grit, cadence, jodies, humor, and raw truths that shape military life.
The Veteran Series is built from the same grit that shapes every service member who’s ever stood in formation, marched until their legs shook, or ran PT while shouting jodies loud enough to wake the whole base. I come from a long line of service — Navy, Navy, Navy, and then the Marine Corps — and I carried that torch myself as a Marine Corps veteran.
Every piece in the Veteran Series is forged from lived experience. The kind you earn through service, through long nights, through miles of boots on dirt, and through the dark humor that keeps warriors moving when the tank is empty.
Cadence and Jodies as Design Fuel

Cadence isn’t just marching music — it’s culture. It’s identity. It’s the heartbeat of the unit.
The Veteran Series pulls directly from that rhythm. The repetition. The call‑and‑response energy. The “keep moving” mentality that becomes second nature.
These designs channel that cadence visually, turning the spirit of jodies into artwork that feels alive, gritty, humorous and unapologetically military.
Raw Grit, Dark Humor, and
Second‑Wind Energy
Service members know the truth: Humor is fuel. Grit is survival. And sometimes you need that “GET SOME” second‑wind to push through the impossible.

The Veteran Series captures all of it.
Rough textures. Battle‑worn Expression. Visual storytelling that hits with the same intensity as a late‑night field op, last‑mile hump or even the PFT after a night, of "God knows what", kind of partying.
This is art that drives forward, fast and hard with a little bit of, "Here birdie, want some bread"? and "Mama rolling over and saying, Gimme Some"!

Honoring the Warrior Spirit
Every design in the Veteran Series exists to honor the men and women who’ve lived the life.
Service changes you. It costs time with family, opportunities, and sometimes far more. Those who make it home are forged differently — hardened by hostile environments, traumatic moments, and the constant pressure to stay ready. We cope with dark humor, grit, and the unspoken understanding that civilians rarely see. Many of us feel out of place until we’re back around other vets, where the guard drops and the room finally feels like home again.
My hope is that these designs motivate you, make you laugh, and take you back to that formation where you were running on fumes — right up until the cadence kicked in and the platoon leader yelled, “Oh hell nah! Let them know we’re here!” That second wind, that fire, that Get Some energy — that’s what this series is built to honor.
The ones who know the cadences. The ones who’ve felt the weight. The ones who carry the stories. We honor them with this series
This series keeps that legacy alive — not as nostalgia, but as identity.
Why the Veteran Series Matters

Dragon Head is veteran‑owned. This isn’t a theme — it’s a lived reality.
Art became therapy for me. Graphic design, video work, and writing helped me process the things that don’t always have words.
The Veteran Series is intended to bring joy — the cadences that gave us a second wind, the jodies that made us laugh when we were smoked, the gritty poems that told the truth without sugarcoating it.
The Veteran Series is our way of preserving the culture, grit, humor, and warrior spirit that shaped us. It’s a tribute to service, sacrifice, and the unfiltered truth of military life.
